AI search visibility check: will ChatGPT recommend you?

Answer 12 quick questions to see how likely AI assistants and Google AI answers are to mention your brand.

Answer each question

Does your homepage say in plain words what you do, for whom and where?

AI reads text, not design. One clear sentence near the top helps it describe you correctly.

Have you been mentioned in news sites, trade media or industry lists in the last year?

AI assistants lean on trusted third-party sources.

Do you have pages that answer the questions buyers ask before they buy?

For example cost, timelines, comparisons and how to choose.

Is your Google Business Profile complete, with 50+ reviews averaging 4.3 or more?

Google AI answers draw heavily on local profiles and reviews.

Are your business name, address and phone the same everywhere online?

Website, Google, directories, LinkedIn and portals.

Does your website use schema markup (Organization, FAQ, Service)?

Structured data tells machines exactly what each page is about.

Have you published original data, research or detailed guides?

Unique information is what gets quoted.

Does your About page show founders, experience and credentials?

Named people and track records build trust with readers and machines.

Are you listed on the main directories and review sites for your industry?

For example Clutch, Practo, 99acres, IndiaMART or G2.

Is your important content in text, not only in images, PDFs or videos?

AI cannot reliably read text inside images.

Are your founder and company active on LinkedIn?

Regular posts and an up-to-date company page add signals AI can find.

Have you asked ChatGPT or Gemini about your category and seen your brand named?

Try: "best [your service] in [your city]".

How AI assistants choose who to mention

When someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Google for a recommendation, the answer is built from what the AI can read about you and what trusted sources say about you. Brands that are clearly described and often cited get named; the rest are left out.

    How the score works

Each question is weighted by how much it tends to influence AI answers. "Not sure" counts for a quarter of the points. The fixes shown are your highest-weighted gaps.

    • 70–100: well placed. Focus on being cited more often.
    • 40–69: partly visible. A few fixes will make a clear difference.
    • 0–39: hard for AI to find. Start with clarity on your own site.

    Questions

    What is AEO?

Answer engine optimisation: making your brand easy for AI assistants and AI search results to understand, trust and recommend. It builds on good SEO rather than replacing it.

    Is this score exact?

No. It is a checklist of the signals that matter most, weighted by our experience. It shows where to start, not a ranking guarantee.

How long do the fixes take to show?

Changes to your own site can be picked up within weeks. Third-party mentions and reviews build over months.

    Is my data saved?

No. Your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to email yourself the result.
