Google reviews calculator: how many reviews to reach 4.5 stars?

See how many new reviews you need to reach your target rating, and how many customers to ask each week.

Your numbers

Results are estimates to guide decisions, not financial advice. Your numbers stay in your browser.

Small rating gains need more reviews than you think

Every new review is averaged with all the old ones, so the more reviews you have, the more it takes to move your rating.

Reviews needed = current reviews × (target − current rating) ÷ (new reviews' rating − target)
Customers to ask = reviews needed ÷ share who leave one

Getting more reviews, fairly

  • Ask every customer at the right moment, with a direct link.
  • Reply to every review, good and bad, within a few days.
  • Never buy reviews or offer rewards for them; it breaks Google's rules.

Questions

Why does Google show 4.1 when my reviews average higher?

Google rounds your average to one decimal place, and some reviews may be filtered. Use the rating shown on your profile.

Can I remove bad reviews?

Only reviews that break Google's policies can be reported for removal. A calm, helpful reply often matters more to readers than the review itself.

What if the target is higher than my new reviews' average?

Then you cannot reach it, however many reviews you get. The tool will show this.

Is my data saved?

No. The calculation runs in your browser. Nothing is sent unless you choose to email yourself the result.
